England all round performance leads 40 runs win over Black Caps in 1st T20

England seal a 40 runs win  over New Zealand in the 1st  Twenty20 at  Auckland after racking up a record breaking 214 for 7  with the bat.

Stuart Broad's mens  broken the tiny boundaries at Eden Park to plunder boundaries, and the visitors cleared the ropes 15 times  defeat their earlier record by four   as they easily surpassed their maximum Twenty20  score of 202 for 6.

Luke Wright topped the sixes charts with four, and the all rounder later claimed  2 for 29 with the bowling, while Stuart  Broad starrer  with his best ever Twenty20  figures of 4 for 24 and Steven Finn also take  in with three wickets. Wright was speedy to upstage both Hales and Lumb as he smashed  seven fours  at a strike rate of 210.

Hira dropped Jonny Bairstow on 22 off Ellis as the hosts continued to make blunders in the field, McClenaghan inexplicably failing to pick up a shot from Morgan which he could not even get a hand to at midwicket off Nathan McCullum. England's whole top six make at least 20 runs each at a rate of over a run a ball, New Zealand's chase  was always going to be a frightening one, but Guptill lead from the front with a savage 44 runs.

Colin Munro manage to add 28 runs  for the New Zealand, but there was little further resistance after Guptill was removed by Wright. Hira was remained  unbeaten on 20 at the end, but the home side  efforts petered out poorly in the last overs and England comfortably closed out a fine victory which sees them started  the tour in imposing fashion.

The both sides will face  again for the 2nd  T20 in Hamilton on Tuesday, before the final encounter of the three match series at Wellington on February 15.
